| A flaw was found in KubeVirt. An authenticated user with permission to create Virtual Machine Instances (VMIs) can cause a Denial of Service (DoS) by submitting a virtual machine definition with an empty ephemeral volume. The virt-controller component fails to properly validate the volume configuration, leading to an unhandled exception and application crash during processing. Because the malformed definition persists in the cluster, the controller enters a continuous crash loop, disrupting virtual machine lifecycle operations across the entire environment. |

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
bpf: Mark the zero register precise for a register-form NULL check
check_cond_jmp_op() accepts "if rA <op> rB" as a NULL check for a
nullable pointer rA when rB is a scalar known to be zero,
lifts PTR_MAYBE_NULL from rA in the corresponding branch and does not
mark rB precise. Consider the following program:

The r6 == 0 path is explored first and the dereference is accepted.
The r6 == 1 path is pruned at the checkpoint recorded for (1),
so the comparison is never verified with a non-zero r6. At runtime a
failed lookup returns NULL, NULL != 1 takes the non-NULL edge and the
program dereferences a pointer that is zero. |
| A database user able to create a view in a namespace that MongoDB Connector for BI samples can cause the schema-sampling routine to stop functioning by defining a view whose evaluation reliably fails. The sampling logic classifies the resulting server message as transient and, after the configured retries are exhausted, proceeds without a valid result, ending the schema refresh routine. The mongosqld process continues running without a usable schema, so SQL clients are unable to obtain results until an operator removes the view or excludes its namespace from sampling. |

Crafted raw/binary string input can cause the lexer to pass a NULL iterator target to jsvLockAgain(). | Suricata is a network Intrusion Detection System, Intrusion Prevention System and Network Security Monitoring engine. Prior to version 7.0.16, the Lua TLS certificate information helper could dereference NULL certificate fields when a Lua script requested certificate information for TLS traffic where some certificate fields were absent. Crafted TLS traffic processed by a deployment using affected Lua TLS scripting could crash Suricata, resulting in denial of service. Version 7.0.16 contains a fix. As a workaround, avoid Lua scripts that call TLS certificate information helpers on untrusted traffic (`TlsGetCertInfo` function), or update scripts to handle missing certificate fields where possible. |
| Suricata is a network Intrusion Detection System, Intrusion Prevention System and Network Security Monitoring engine. From 8.0.0 until 8.0.6, src/datasets-context-json.c assumes that a configured JSON or NDJSON dataset value_key resolves to a string. A trusted or untrusted dataset or rule feed containing a non-string value for that key can cause a NULL pointer dereference during startup, configuration test mode, or rule reload, crashing Suricata before traffic processing. This issue is fixed in version 8.0.6. |
